After a downpour of rain the night before, the Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams ran at the annual Minooka Flight invite at Channahon Park. For this meet, instead of having the top seven varsity runners all run at the same time, the varsity races is broken up into flights where boys and girls teams start at the same time. It has all of the seventh best runners race at the same together, then the sixth runners go, then the fifth and so on.

The course was filled with puddles and mud after a storm the night before, but the meet had almost perfect weather Saturday.

The Boys’ team won the at the fresh-soph level, repeating as team champs, with sophomores Ben Otstott and Omar Paramo placing 1-2. He was then followed later by sophomore Spencer Brandt and freshman Nick Lowe. Otstott won it in a 16:26 to repeat as champion.  In the flight races, the team ran well with Senior Brendan McGath placing sixth in first flight.

The Girls’ team ran exceptionally well with multiple athletes racing in the top 5 for their flights. Senior Rachael Lau placed second in the first flight and freshman Juliana Stogsdill placed second in the second flight. Multiple other runners placed in the top 5 in their flights for North. The girls were coming off a victory in their last meet.
