Kurt Palandech: Quarterback, UNLV

After originally going to the University of North Dakota (UND) to play quarterback, alumn Kurt Palandech is now at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). As a three-sport athlete at North, Palandech was expected to do great things at the college level when he graduated in 2012.
Palandech committed to play football for UND but was red-shirted his freshman year. After two years at UND, Palandech left for Laney Junior College in Oakland, California.
After a single season there, he left Laney and signed with UNLV and even participated in their spring games that year.
While at PNHS, he was on the varsity basketball team sophomore through senior year. He also played varsity football and baseball his junior and senior years.
In football his junior year, he threw for a school record 1,337 passing yards. Along with that, he tossed seven touchdowns, 684 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns He helped the Tigers to the playoffs, but lost in the first round.
He was named All-Conference, and All-Area during his junior and senior seasons.
After not playing at UND, he threw for 1,634 yards with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions at Laney College. He also contributed 390 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He carried them to a 6-5 record and an appearance in the Bulldog Bowl.
Now at UNLV, Palandech has started the past two games, the most recent against Fresno State.
He has 447 passing yards with six touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Along with that, he has 216 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Just as he was at North, Palandech is scouted as a dual-threat, athletic passer by opposing teams.
